le logis abbatial (ou palais) fut la demeure des<a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/08\/27\/les-abbes\/\"> abb\u00e9s<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ef2b2fb e-con-full e-flex wpr-particle-no class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-33b4b3b elementor-widget-divider--view-line exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"33b4b3b\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"Textbody\">Sa construction a suivi celle du <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/05\/27\/labbaye\/\">b\u00e2timent conventuel<\/a><\/span>, \u00e0 la fin du XVIIe si\u00e8cle. Il fut command\u00e9 par <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/06\/28\/jean-louis-caton-de-court\/\">Jean-Louis Caton de Court<\/a><\/span>, abb\u00e9 fastueux de l\u2019abbaye de Saint-Georges en 1695, qui d\u00e9cida la construction d\u2019un nouveau palais abbatial.<\/p><p class=\"Textbody\">Les abb\u00e9s disposaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 d&rsquo;un logis : adoss\u00e9 au <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/05\/22\/le-refectoire-des-moines\/\">r\u00e9fectoire des moines<\/a><\/span>, le b\u00e2timent est aujourd&rsquo;hui \u00e0 gauche et perpendiculaire au palais abbatial. On ne connait pas la date de sa construction mais une chemin\u00e9e monumentale avec pilastres cannel\u00e9s, oves et griffes, typique\u00a0 de la Renaissance y \u00e9tait install\u00e9e. Celle-ci est aujourd&rsquo;hui au mus\u00e9e Saint-Jean d&rsquo;Angers. La demeure ne convient pas \u00e0 Caton de Court qui souhaite b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d&rsquo;un logement plus fastueux ! Il commande donc un nouveau logis \u00e0 S\u00e9bastien Simonneau, l\u2019architecte qui vient alors de terminer les travaux de maison <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/05\/27\/labbaye\/\">conventuelle de l\u2019abbaye<\/a><\/span> et qui a construit la chapelle du <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/05\/24\/le-chateau-de-serrant\/\">ch\u00e2teau de Serrant.<\/a><\/span><\/p><p class=\"Textbody\">L\u2019abb\u00e9 se ruina dans cette construction, achev\u00e9e en 1699. Il avait utilis\u00e9 les 21 000 livres que <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/08\/06\/jean-baptiste-lully-fils\/\">Jean-Baptiste Lully<\/a><\/span> son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur lui avait laiss\u00e9 afin de r\u00e9parer les possessions de l\u2019abbaye, pour la construction de son palais. L\u2019abb\u00e9 Jean-Louis Caton de Court, d\u00e9muni, avait imagin\u00e9 une loterie pour achever le paiement des travaux de son palais. Les lots \u00e9taient constitu\u00e9s par son mobilier et ses bijoux. Cette op\u00e9ration jug\u00e9e frauduleuse par la justice royale et ajout\u00e9e aux malversations pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e9voqu\u00e9es, lui valut une expulsion de Saint-Georges. Nomm\u00e9 d\u2019abord \u00e0 l\u2019Abbaye de Saint Serge d\u2019Angers, il se r\u00e9fugia ensuite chez son fr\u00e8re \u00e0 Gournay en Normandie. Au cours d\u2019une promenade, il fut pi\u00e9tin\u00e9 par un taureau.<\/p><p>Le logis abbatial constitue avec l\u2019Abbaye, un ensemble harmonieux, fait d\u2019\u00e9quilibre, de sym\u00e9trie, d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gance, dans le style de l\u2019architecte Mansart, pr\u00e9curseur de l\u2019architecture classique en France. En 1824, la construction de la <a href=\"https:\/\/saint-georges-sur-loire-patrimoine.fr\/index.php\/2024\/05\/23\/leglise\/\">nouvelle \u00e9glise<\/a> va amputer de moiti\u00e9 la cour d&rsquo;entr\u00e9e du logis abbatial.<\/p><p>En 1908, la famille Durand-Guitton acquiert la propri\u00e9t\u00e9. Lors de la seconde guerre mondiale, la maison est occup\u00e9e par l&rsquo;Etat Major Allemand. Le logis est laiss\u00e9 tr\u00e8s d\u00e9t\u00e9rior\u00e9. Bernard Guitton maire de Saint Georges de 1967 \u00e0 1989, entreprend des premiers travaux de restauration que poursuivra son fils Gilles Guitton qui h\u00e9rite de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 en 2005. Un am\u00e9nagement des jardins est alors lanc\u00e9.<\/p><p class=\"Textbody\">Le logis abbatial est aujourd\u2019hui une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 priv\u00e9e.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d84d61f e-con-full e-flex wpr-particle-no wpr-jarallax-no On ne connait pas la date de sa construction mais une chemin\u00e9e monumentale avec pilastres cannel\u00e9s, oves et griffes, typique\u00a0 de la Renaissance y \u00e9tait install\u00e9e. Celle-ci est aujourd&rsquo;hui au mus\u00e9e Saint-Jean d&rsquo;Angers. La demeure ne convient pas \u00e0 Caton de Court qui souhaite b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d&rsquo;un logement plus fastueux ! Il commande donc un nouveau logis \u00e0 S\u00e9bastien Simonneau, l\u2019architecte qui vient alors de terminer les travaux de maison conventuelle de l\u2019abbaye et qui a construit la chapelle du ch\u00e2teau de Serrant. L\u2019abb\u00e9 se ruina dans cette construction, achev\u00e9e en 1699. Il avait utilis\u00e9 les 21 000 livres que Jean-Baptiste Lully son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur lui avait laiss\u00e9 afin de r\u00e9parer les possessions de l\u2019abbaye, pour la construction de son palais. L\u2019abb\u00e9 Jean-Louis Caton de Court, d\u00e9muni, avait imagin\u00e9 une loterie pour achever le paiement des travaux de son palais. Les lots \u00e9taient constitu\u00e9s par son mobilier et ses bijoux. Cette op\u00e9ration jug\u00e9e frauduleuse par la justice royale et ajout\u00e9e aux malversations pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment \u00e9voqu\u00e9es, lui valut une expulsion de Saint-Georges. Nomm\u00e9 d\u2019abord \u00e0 l\u2019Abbaye de Saint Serge d\u2019Angers, il se r\u00e9fugia ensuite chez son fr\u00e8re \u00e0 Gournay en Normandie. Au cours d\u2019une promenade, il fut pi\u00e9tin\u00e9 par un taureau. Le logis abbatial constitue avec l\u2019Abbaye, un ensemble harmonieux, fait d\u2019\u00e9quilibre, de sym\u00e9trie, d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gance, dans le style de l\u2019architecte Mansart, pr\u00e9curseur de l\u2019architecture classique en France. La porte principale est surmont\u00e9e d\u2019une frise et d\u2019un cadran solaire effac\u00e9 par le temps. \u00a0 De successions en successions&#8230; A la R\u00e9volution, le logis abbatial est nationalis\u00e9 et vendu \u00e0 Pierre P\u00e9an,notaire et maire de Saint Georges, en 1791. En 1824, la construction de la nouvelle \u00e9glise va amputer de moiti\u00e9 la cour d&rsquo;entr\u00e9e du logis abbatial. En 1908, la famille Durand-Guitton acquiert la propri\u00e9t\u00e9. Lors de la seconde guerre mondiale, la maison est occup\u00e9e par l&rsquo;Etat Major Allemand. Le logis est laiss\u00e9 tr\u00e8s d\u00e9t\u00e9rior\u00e9. Bernard Guitton maire de Saint Georges de 1967 \u00e0 1989, entreprend des premiers travaux de restauration que poursuivra son fils Gilles Guitton qui h\u00e9rite de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 en 2005. Un am\u00e9nagement des jardins est alors lanc\u00e9. Le logis abbatial est aujourd\u2019hui une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 priv\u00e9e.
